What We Do

Workplace Law

Work is a fundamental component of our lives. We provide services for the full range of workplace issues facing provincially and federally regulated employees and employers, regulated professionals, union-side labour law, and human resources support.

Advocacy & Representation

Advancing and defending your rights, we represent diverse clientele in public interest and private law civil litigation matters, and before administrative tribunals & regulatory bodies. Litigation takes know-how, strategic thinking, wise judgment, and perseverance - it’s essential to have an experienced advocate on your side.

Human Rights

Human dignity is essential for a flourishing and fair society. We offer services in all areas of human rights protection and advancement both provincially under the Ontario Human Rights Code and federally under the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Workplace Training & Investigation

Through years of experience working with employees and employers, in both union and non-union settings, we are sought after to provide customized workplace training programs tailored to your needs and to act as neutral workplace investigators in workplace discrimination, harassment and other matters.

Disability Benefits

Short and long-term disability benefits provide income security in case of illness or injury. Don’t give up if you have been denied benefits by your insurer. We fight for your rights to obtain the disability benefits you are entitled to and deserve.

Mediation

Most legal disputes are resolved through mediation and righty so. Faster than litigation, less expensive, and more participatory, mediation allows parties the opportunity to craft a resolution to their differences rather than having one imposed on them. We invite you to inquire about our mediation services.

What Clients Are Saying

“Robert Tarantino… handled my case against my former employer with compassion, ethically sound expert advice in plain language and professional courtesy during my termination process, a stressful event in any working person's life. I was presented with all potential courses of action during my initial meeting prior to making a decision to retain services, and was treated with respect and dignity every step of the way. Robert was able to mediate an acceptable settlement without having to proceed with a formal human rights violation compliant at the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. Thank you Robert.”

— Ian G.

“We contracted with Robert Tarantino to do a respectful workplaces presentation to our organization. This was part of a follow up to a StressAssess.ca survey we had done with all of our staff. Robert’s presentation included: Introduction; Overview – Why ‘Respectful Workplaces’ is an Important Topic; What is a Respectful Workplace?; Occupational Health and Safety Act – workplace harassment; Human Rights Code – discrimination in employment; Fostering a Healthy and Respectful Workplace; and Q & A – Discussion. The presentation was extremely well done, very engaging and included excellent examples. Robert did an excellent job and I would highly recommend his services.”

“Robert Tarantino provided exceptional legal counsel during a difficult time when I had no choice but to seek legal counsel. A time that was not only emotional but also physically exhausting. It is clear Robert is well versed in Employment, Labour Law and Human Rights. He was clear and concise when seeking facts, that not only led to bolster my case, but also advanced negotiations. His patience allowed me to digest the implications and potential outcomes to inform my decision-making. I received exceptional legal counsel and more than a satisfactory outcome. I highly recommend Tarantino Law!
